Hi, Bruce!
My favorite thing in St. Thomas is going up to Paradise Point and kicking back to enjoy the view with a few Bushwhackers.
Several people around here have a favorite catamaran sail in Barbados. Hopefully they'll chime in with the name.
Dominica: snorkeling the Champagne Reef, definitely!
St. Maarten: Bunch of people here have talked about a beach you can go to that is right at the end of the runway. Sounds like a lot of fun watching the planes zoom right over your head. I wouldn't want to do that all day, but sounds like a fun stop for a bit.

Silver Moon - one of the best days on any island - go for the little cat max of 12 passengers. Max 0f 24 is great too. Far better then the 100+ ship's cats

Here's what we did on the same ship back in April
St. Thomas Taxi to Emerald Beach, rented a couple of chairs and a bucket of beer from the Beachcomber. Emerald was just OK, nothing special (wasn't very crowded though)
Barbados Shasa Catamaran snorkeling with the sea turtles (http://www.shasacatamarancruises.com/) GREAT time, the best excursion yet... small boat and we beat the large groups to the turtles so it was just us. Good rum punch too

Dominica Levi Baron "Bumpiing Tours" - good tour and it was well worth seeing the twin falls... very large group and very crowded though, but the tour itself was well worth it. Roads are a bit "entertaining".
St. Lucia Cosol Tours - great time! We had a large group so we had a private bus to ourselves. Basic island tour with stops for local food, senic views, waterfall, volcano, etc. Then ended with water taxi over to Jalousie Beach between the Pitons (then a loooong bus ride back to the ship). Lots of windshield time, but that's St. Lucia, everything is very spread out.
St. Kitts Rose & Jim's Taxi Tour - Rose is hilarious! Basic island tour, stops to see where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean, Brimstone Hill Fortress, etc. Ends with beach time at Cockleshell. Rose is a British transplant (her husband is native) but her wealth of knowledge is awesome.
St. Maarten Taxi to Maho beach to watch the planes land and then back to Phillipsburg to grab some Guavaberry and some beers at "The Firehouse" (lots of beach bars to pick from here).
Someday I'll finish the pix.

Carnival doesn't go to Antigua anymore (at least for now)

Not a bad choice. Antigua was an armpit even before all the violence against tourists started. (and I say this with all Christian love for my friends from Antigua)

Such a shame. Always had a nice time there. It's sad when a few cause problems.Last edited on Sat Jul 10th, 2010 07:09 pm by Sea Breeze

Carnival still goes to Antigua - 8 days on Carnival Freedom. It's the same itinerary as Carnival Liberty did back in '07.
St Kitts - take the water taxi over to the beach at Shiggedy Shack.

In St Maarten we did a ship (NCL) tour of the island which was really interesting. We followed the tour with a walk round Phillipsburg and some guavaberry coladas (very yummy)
In St Lucia the "must see" places are the Pitons and the "drive-in" volcano (which smells). We've only been on land based vacations to St Lucia so can't recommend any operators. We went on a tour to a plantation house which we really enjoyed.

Another vote for Maho Beach in St. Maarten. Google it on youtube. It's a blast! (pardon the pun.... )
St. Thomas - the 1/2 day Champagne Catamaran sail to St. John. We did this in March and it was a highlight of our cruise!

Another vote for the Champagne Reef snorkeling in Dominica!
St. Thomas, there is so much to do, I'd say it depends on what you enjoy most: sightseeing, beaches, bars, watersports, shopping.
I've done an island tour of Barbados twice, mechanical problems both times. While the tour was excellent, I can't remember the name of the tour company. Considering the problems with the vehicles, maybe that's a good thing!
St. Maarten, hit the Guavaberry Shop!
