You're very welcome. I'm sure you'll love Cairo - I recall hearing that they were planning on fencing off the Pyramids to keep the amount of vendors & hawkers down - not sure if they've done it as yet - but we didn't find it too over the top - and remember to take lots of Bakeesh. I'd be interested to know what he is charging for the private tours.
I did pick up a great little portable travel guide from Chapters - it was on Cairo and Luxor - small but very informative - they had to order it for me but the cost was under $12 Cdn. I highly recommend it as well.
