Has anyone ever stayed in a lighthouse for a vacation?  It sounds like fun!

Definately...went to a paranormal thing yearly at Mohonk Mountain House.  They stopped having it though. They had ghost hunters with real hauntings under their belts( like the Warrens), they had a  pilot who talked about UFOs..and a undertaker who talked about past life experiences. etc

It's a place with a past to began with and the first time we went, I slept with the light on.:big grin:

What a beautiful place!!!!!!    I've always wanted to do the Hudson Valley area.  I've never been up that way, but hear it's pretty.

How about a lighthouse cruise

http://www.americancruiselines.com/seminar.php

View over 50 New England lighthouses on these special cruises designed for the person who loves lighthouses and discovering the unique story behind each one.

Local historians and authors will be invited aboard to share stories of folklore, romance, haunted legends and the inspiring spirit of the lightkeepers who once called these treasures home.

When we cruised to Canada/New England last year, we did an excursion to the Rose Island Lighthouse in Newport.  I'd LOVE to go back and stay.  You can either stayt for the week as the "keeper" of the lighthouse, or as an overnight guest on the main floor which is shown as a museum from 10 - 4.

Here's their website:  http://www.roseislandlighthouse.org/keeper_options.html

I would love to do that one, too!  I've been to Newport several times and always liked that lighthouse!
